Hi, I’m Abi
I’ve worked 3 years of full-time and 2 years of part-time in the UX field, across various sectors— Business-facing tech (Oracle, Cisco) to Consumer-facing tech (cooking robot co., meme-making, fitness, Networking apps), to Impact (Next Tech Girls - London).
I recently completed my MSc. Anthropology and professional practice, where I specialized in applying anthropology to business contexts. My dissertation focused on "How to translate consumer research insights into actionable strategies to meet business needs?”
Beyond work, I do some improv! My superpower is infusing improv’s creative energy into impact driving workshops. I also channel adaptability into user interviews and research.
Some of my research work..
Work done at a startup to understand how people think of ‘help’ from network.
Concept testing, In-depth Interviews, Ideation workshops (Generative Research)
Meme making app’s usability explored in this case study.
Usability Testing, Ideation workshops
(Evaluative Research)
Impact so far:
When at Oracle doing user research, I conducted a workshop on ‘cognitive accessibility’ to the Europe and Asia UXR team, after which I was picked to work with Sr. Directors and Team leads for building accessibility into the new ERP release.
When at Nymble, a cooking robot startup, I worked on error flows and tested them internally, which led to resolving complaints by consumers in Silicon Valley.
When at a meme-making startup, I held ‘action’ workshops at the end of concept and usability testing, which led to adding gamification across the app, helping retention and increasing popularity on the app store.
I’ve volunteered with Next Tech Girls, London to get more opportunities for girls; where I did user research on optmising the placement seeking process and bridging to sponsors
